Just Nan Finish

Last Friday I decided that I wanted a break from Floralie, so I started Just Nan's Porcelain Nosegay, and finished it this morning. I've had this one in my stash for nearly a year and thought it was high time I stitched it. I used 28ct pale lilac Brittney and the required threads, beads and charm. I did find the charm a little fiddily to stitch on and had to unpick my first effort. I'm not sure that even now it's in quite the right place, but it's staying put. Next week I have some birthday cards to make, both stitched and cardcraft ones. I'll also be back to Floralie, with maybe a new start, one of my 2007 goals.

I'm joining Sally, Chris, Gill and Claire on a stitch from chart stash challenge, running until December. By then I think we'll all deserve a treat! In fact I've been on a self imposed stash wagon for a while now, mainly for financial reasons, but also because I have more than enough kits and charts to keep me going for more than one lifetime! I have so many that I'm really not sure where I am going to hang them all once they are stitched. The only problem with all this is though that every time I read a blog and see all your wonderful stitching, I just want to add to my collection, and will power never was my strong point! I do have one chart to buy though, and as that is to stitch for a present for someone, can't say what or who as she reads my blog, then I'm allowing it. I've also asked for Chatelaine's Winter's Eve for my birthday (which is a week before Christmas), or for Christmas, and also for the speciality threads needed for it. I hope my husband and son take this on board as it's really the only way I'm going to get it.

Thanks to everyone for visiting my blog and for all the lovely comments you leave. It's so good to know that you are enjoying my stitching.

Your JN finish is lovely Nicola. Such pretty colours.

I am sure we will all encourage each other to keep up with our challenge. I, for one, will be very proud of myself if I do this.

You can most certainly borrow Spring in the Air. I will hang onto it for you when I've finished with it.

What a shame I haven't still got my Winter's Eve or you could have borrowed that. It is lovely to stitch.

I just love your Just Nan Nicola. I know what you mean by looking at blogs makes you want to buy more charts - I suffer from this too. I´ve got so many charts and have kitted up so many things that it will last me a lifetime but still I keep looking around. LOL

All the best,
Edda

I also want lots of things when i see other stitchers blogs, i think we all do, but i have to be realistic and when i look in my pile of stash, i know i have way too much to be getting something else

lovely finish Nicola - good luck with the "stitching from stash" challenge - not sure I could do it though I certainly have enough things kitted to last me the rest of the year

Stunning Nicola - I love it.

Think maybe we should all list our charts and run a chart library. I often hear people say "Ive just bought such and such which I have been wanting for ages" and I think - they could have borrowed mine and saved some money.

Love your JN finish Nicola, but as you know I'm a JN fan. What are you doing with the chart, do you fancy a JN chart swap? I'm sure we wouldn't be breaking the rules of 'On the wagon' if we did. ;-)
