I knew I should have left well alone

I tried to change my blog template this morning with the help of my son, who is here for the week on holiday. We managed to upload the new template, but then just to double check things restored the original one, on my son's advice. However, whether it was us or Blogger not playing nicely I don't know, but when we tried to upload the new one again an error message kept coming up, and it just would not work. Soooo I've had to keep the old template, which my DH prefered anyway, and I've had to put back the page elements which were deleted. You'll notice my sidebar looks a bit different. I'm having to add back my blog list one by one, (I'm sure there's probably an easier way of doing all this, but if there is I don't know it!) so if your blog doesn't appear on there yet please don't think I'm not interested in it any more, it's just that I had a long list and am trying to remember everyone that was on it. I think I'm going to take this opportunity to leave off my goals for the year. To be honest having goals just wasn't working for me. I did achieve some of the smaller, simpler ones but really I'm the sort of stitcher that likes to stitch whatever takes my fancy at the time.

I'm sorry that I've not been blogging much lately, but as I mentioned earlier I have my son staying for the week, and also my husband is on leave from work. I have been trying to read as many of your blogs as I can, but I'm afraid that I haven't been able to comment as much as I would like to. Hopefully normal service will resume next week and I'll try and get some photos on here too, although there's very little stitching going on at the moment and last week was a bit of a fiasco as far as stitching was concerned.

Many thanks for all the lovely comments on my previous posts, I do so enjoy reading them. I'd also like to say welcome to new visitors to my blog.

Thanks for adding me to your list. Sounds like you've been busy with life. Mys husband was on leave last week (military), but I had to work, so when I got home he wanted to do stuff 'cause he was bored, but I was tired. Don't tell him, but I'm glad he is back at work.

Sounds like a right pain in the rear. Blogger can be so annoying sometimes, but I still love it :o)

Enjoy your time with your son and hubby!

Sorry to hear about your blog woes. :( If you use a site such as bloglines or blogrolling, it gives you a code to put your blog links into the sidebar.

I also tried to update my blog template and it didn't work. Thankfully I'd saved the old one, so just reverted back.

I use Blogroll for my list of blogs that I read, but it does seem to make the page load much slower.

I would like to change mine and have a new look Nicola but I am just so afraid I will just lose everything.

I use bloglines to keep track of my links now Nicola and its so much easier as you are notifified when new post is added to a blog. I also tried the google blogrole but found that very frustrating and not always reliable.

Blogger can be a bit of a pain sometimes when you're changing stuff I must admit.

Hope you have had a great time with your son and DH.

The easiest way to list your blogs that you like to visit is by using rss feeds.
