Mum

I'm sorry that I'm a bit late in posting an update about Mum following her mastectomy last Friday. (24th Aug.) She's doing very well and will be home later today! We are going down to see her again for a couple of days on the 11th Sept. and also combining it with a visit to Keith's mum who lives just an hour and a half's drive further along the south coast, so we'll be away for nearly a week.

We had a great weekend with Mum and Dad when we went down for Mums birthday the weekend before last. Our Son, Paul, surprised them with a visit as well, (we knew he was going to but didn't tell Mum or Dad). On the Saturday Dad took us all out for a lovely lunch at a favourite pub of theirs, followed by a Pimm's and Strawberry afternoon at a friend of theirs from the Caledonian Society. On the Sunday, Mum's birthday, we took us all out for a cream tea at a former railway station, near Burley, in the New Forest. The scones were huge and absolutely delicious, and we each had two! Then in the evening Paul went back to London. On the Monday my brother and his family came down for the day. We came home after tea, arriving back here, after a very good run, at about ten thirty.

The rest of last week I was busy stitching, but at the moment can't show you any pictures. One of the things I stitched is for a birthday exchange on one of the boards I visit, and I'm not sure if this person reads my blog or not. The other stitching was a Ruby Wedding Anniversary card for my SIL, but I'm waiting until I've put it into a card before photographing it.

Many, many thanks for all your kind words, thoughts and prayers for Mum on my last post, they are very much appreciated!

It is good to hear that your mom is doing good. I know it can be very stressful too. Take care.
