Biscornu Finally Lands in The Netherlands

Just when I had started to think about stitching a replacement, I heard from Mylene last night that she has received the biscornu that I stitched for her in the Hooked on Exchanging biscornu exchange. I was starting to get worried about this as I sent it two weeks ago, and it was only going from England to The Netherlands! (I thought it would only take about a week, after all post to the U.S.A. only takes that long!) Anyway I can now show you what I stitched and the extras that I sent, which were some pretty fabric, a length of Ric Rac, some beads, threads and a postcard. If you click on the photos the beads that I stitched onto the biscornu will show up much better.

Design No. 942 Repertoire des Frises
Fabric 28ct Antique White Brittney
Threads DMC Variations 4210 & 4128
Beads Mill Hill

I have stitched a wee bit more on my Rose Cottage, but not really enough to warrant another picture just now. I'm also stitching away on my Fair and Square exchange and am nearly finished the main piece. I then have to stitch the second square with my name, date and country and I'm done. Obviously I can't show you a picture yet.

Thanks for your lovely comments about my last post. I shall carry on stitching the daffodils in the colours I'm using. Nic to answer your question about DMC's Colour Variations, yes, I agree with you, they do look "blocky" and not as subtle as some other brands of hand dyed threads, but I'm quite happy with the result in this case.

What a lovely biscornu - the colours are great.

And did you stitch the hardanger piece underneath it? It looked fantastic, do you have a picture of the whole thing anywhere?
