Bluebells, Bluebells And.......More Bluebells

On our wanderings around Staffordshire last Sunday I noticed an AA road sign pointing to some bluebell woods. After a bit of detective work on the Internet yesterday morning, I discovered that these woods were not very far away at Yoxall Lodge. So yesterday afternoon, as the weather was much better than expected and there was tea and cake on offer we paid the woods a visit. It was just so amazing, beautiful blue carpets of the most gorgeous smelling flowers, and the cake was scrumptious too! It was one of the best afternoons out we've had in a long while. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves although they really don't do these lovely English flowers the justice they deserve. Oh, and by the way the new header picture is one of the many that I took while we were there.

I have a stitching post coming soon. Thanks to everyone who visits my blog especially those of you who leave such lovely comments, they are so much appreciated, and a very warm welcome to new readers.

I have lots of bluebells in my garden but they are not as delicate as the beautiful wild ones. We have seen lots of them this weekend in the Lake District but not in thick carpets yet as they are only just coming out up there.
