Not a huge amount of progress on Garden Pleasures in the last week, just the grass and words. I have also added some french knot eyes to the girl, which I think is a great improvement, they bring her to life. The photo is clickable for a better view.
I'm also stitching my first needleroll. Chris was going to help me out by doing a SAL with me as the "finishing" had always put me off doing one before. However, as a needleroll exchange was being offered on the Hooked on Exchanging blog, I thought it was time I had a go, but Chris was unable to SAL with me just now, although she did offer to help me out with the finishing. Many thanks for that Chris, I will be e-mailing you. However, my friend Colette came over for the afternoon last Saturday so I asked her to show me how to hemstitch. Now that I know how to do that I feel so much more confident that I can do one, so this morning I went ahead and signed up for the exchange. Wish me luck please! Oh, and the needleroll that I'm stitching? It's The Sweetheart Tree's Violet Bouquet needleroll.
Many thanks for all your lovely comments last time, and a warm welcome to all new readers.

Garden Pleasures looks fantastic! And I am sure your Needle Roll for HoE will be lovely - all of your work is!
Lovely progress on GP - the french knots really make a difference to the girl.
Good luck with the needleroll, once you've done one, there'll be no stopping you :)
Oh Nicola I so admire your courage. I really really want to stitch a needleroll but keep putting it off LOL I have even bought a little basket to display them in, but Im still dithering. I do have some quite near the top of my "To Do" pile so fingers crossed I will have a go soon.
Yes the little lady looks so much better with eyes.
Lovely progress on GP - those french knot eyes have definitely added character. :0)
Best of Luck with the needleroll - don't think you'll need it though, as your stitching & finishing is always lovely Nicola.
Oh the eyes definitely make a difference! Looks great Nicola!
She does look better with eyes! I'd not thought of it before but I prefer her your way :)
You'll love making up the needleroll. So eay really. I'm sure it'll be beautiful :)
I'm sure you'll do just fine on the needleroll Nicola, and then of course you'll be hooked on them LOL.
I do prefer your little lady with some eyes
Sweet Nicola - that is the same reason I hesitated to do a needle roll - fear of the finish!! Now that I have done one it gets easier to do others!! - You'll be fine and it will be great!! I love that you added the eyes - I like it better that way also
She looks so much better with eyes - I know I look better with my eyes made up than not!
I look forward to seeing your needleroll
I saw your needleroll on my Google reader - absolutely stunning!!! You deserve a big pat on the back for that one!!!!
