I Have Been Stitching....

.... just not blogging very much. I'm trying to get back into the swing of things after a really nasty cold. I have started to comment again, but it's taking me a while to catch up on all your blogs. Please bear with me on this. Thanks to all who read my blog and especially to those of you who take the time and trouble to leave me such lovely comments, they are very much appreciated.

Last week I had a finish, LHN's Season of Plenty. It was one of the charts that Keith gave me for Christmas last year. It only took me about a week to do, and as I was feeling rough, it was a nice easy one to stitch.

LHN Seaon of Plenty
28ct Antique White Jobelan
DMC threads as given

I've also been working on LHN's Garden Pleasures, another Christmas present, this time from Clare. I took this away on holiday with me intending to stitch on it, but I didn't. I have, however, been stitching on it on and off for the last three weeks since we've been back, and this is where I'm up to with it. Does anyone else who has stitched this feel that the girl needs at least some eyes? I'm stitching this on 32ct Lambswool linen by Permin with the suggested threads.

I had a small stash acquistion this week, a fat quarter each of antique white and ivory 32ct Jobelan fabric and a fat quarter of 32ct lilac Belfast linen. The latter is for my Bella biscornu. I also got four threads that I needed.

The new header is one of our peonies. It has taken several years to establish, but now has three gorgeous flowers on it. Sadly it's a little worse for wear now due to last nights wind and rain.

Right I'm off to have breakfast and stitch.

Beautiful stitching. I just love LHN designs. They're fun and easy to stitch and doesn't take much concentration. Hope you're feeling better. Take care!

Love the LHN finish and Garden Pleasures is coming along nicely. I agree about the girl's eyes though - I don't like "faceless" people!

Love the peony header, very dramatic!

Plenty looks wonderful, but i think i would have to add a couple of tiny french knot eyes to the little lady

Lovely finish and an equally lovely WIP. I have to agree with you about the eyes though!

Dear Nicola,
Thank you so much for stopping by the blog - and leaving a comment - I do like to know who is out there reading my babblings and meeting new stitchy friends!! :) You have stitched some lovely things.

I read back a little into your past blogs and got to your "Exchanges" blog - and I to worry all the time about exchanges - but figure with my limited skill it is the stitching fun and meeting everyone out there that I focus on as I too am a worrier. Can't help it - I just try and do as good a job as I can and hope for the best.

Your work is lovely and I will enjoy coming back a visiting again and again!!

Take care,
edgar

Gorgeous stitching!
I love that peony on the top too!
I have tried here to grow peonies, but unfortunately we don't have enough sun (very big trees)!

Nice LHN finish. I think I would be inclined to give the girl some eyes too.

Gorgeous header - your peonie is such a lush red.
Lovely LHN finish & new start. I agree too - I'd be adding french knot eyes.
Hope you're feeling much better soon (((((hugs))))).
Thanks again for the cottage website details - it looks lovely & such great scenery too. :0)

Lovely finishes. I think I might have to put eyes on when I get around to stitching mine. It looks too wird left blank.

Congrats. on a lovely finish.
I have this series of charts and need to get round to stitching them.
Yes, I agree that the Garden Pleasures girl needs a face :)

Glad to see you around again Nicola. The Peony is beautiful, as is the stitching.

For me she would have to have eyes. My mum has a beautiful ornament of a mother holding the hands of two children who are looking up into her face - I hate the fact none of them have eyes it makes me feel creepy. I often say that one day i will paint some on for her.

Do you like LHN, too?
Me too, I love LHN, but somehow I haven't been stitching them at all, I think I will try some later summer!
Your pieces are so lovely!
