A Lot Of Water But Not Much Stitching!

Hello everyone! We had a lovely week in Yorkshire although our arrival was in somewhat wet weather. It had been raining so much that the road across from Ingleton to Hawes was running with so much water that it was like constantly driving through fords. After a stop at the Wensleydale creamery for tea and cake we headed out of Hawes to Thwaite and our cottage. Unfortunately we had to make a detour as our usual route was flooded and impassable. However, Sunday the weather was glorious and roads were dry again, the water goes down very quickly. We only had two other days of rain during the week, but nowhere near as much as on that first Saturday. As you can see from the new header photo, which is of the Middle Falls at Aysgarth, all the rain made the falls more spectacular! I came home with an unwanted "souvenir" though, a Yorkshire cold! This is the reason why I'm only now just catching up with blogging.

You may recall I was taking LHN's Acorn Hill with me to stitch and that I was go to do so for an hour a day. Well this first photo shows just how much I actually did, about an hour all week!

This is where it's up to now. Some progress at last!

Before I went away I worked on PS's Daffodils Sampler. I'm hoping to work some more on this next week along side of Bourton-on-the-Water.

Now on to the recent Fair and Square exchange that I took part in. Lei was my partner for round 9 and this is what she stitched me.

And this is what I stitched for her.

Design from 1995 issue Cross Stitcher magazine
32ct Antique White Jobelan
DMC threads

Well that's me up to date again. I hope to have caught up with blog reading and commenting very soon. Thank you all for continuing to read and comment on my ramblings.

Nicola

Your new header is striking. Pretty projects-any progress is better than no progress or least I keep telling myself that! The squares are lovely too.
