Amber Mist and Red Devil

I don't normally do non-stitching posts, but this is by way of explaining my new header photo. As many of you will know I live near the Trent and Mersey Canal. One of our favourite places to visit is Fradley Junction, just a short drive from us. Back in the summer we discovered The Cheese Boat whilst over there, and bought some lovely Cheddar cheese flavoured with whisky, called Amber Mist and a red Leicester flavoured with chillies and crushed pepper called Red Devil. If you look at the link you'll see that this boat tours all around the canals and does in fact come to Great Haywood Junction, very near to where I live. Today, however, the boat was at Fradley so Keith and I braved the cold, and boy was it cold, and went over there to buy some more cheese. When we got there we discovered the Fudge Boat was there as well. I was in seventh heaven as I love fudge! The photo below shows what we came home with. In the header photo the Cheese Boat is the one on the right with the Fudge Boat behind it.

I hope you all had a really lovely Christmas, and I wish you all a very Happy New Year! Hopefully there will be a stitching post from me soon.

Nicola

Yum, I wish a fudge boat would come up our local river! :-)

There's something really nice about English canal boats.

Thanks so much for the lovely Christmas card you sent.

LOL Thank goodness there was no needlework boat or you would not have been able to carry it all home LOL

Cheese, I love cheese, but have never tried one with whiskey flavour. Sounds very special to me.

Ooohhhhhhhhhhhh I just love fudge. I love cheese too but I prefer it just flavoured with herbs and as Im not into hot then the chillies are definitely not for me.

Hope you and Keith had a wonderful christmas.

Hugs

Those cheeses sound tasty! Love the idea of selling from a barge.
Best wishes for a Happy & Peaceful 2009 Nicola. :0)
