Exchanges

It's been too long since my last post for which I apologise. I have some exchange stitching to share with you from last year. The first is a personal exchange that I did with Julianne. We started e-mailing with each other last year when she left a lovely comment on my blog. We decided to do a Christmas ornament exchange and this is what Julianne sent me. Along with what is shown here was also a tin of mints.

This is the ornament that I stitched for Julianne. It's from Prairie Schooler book no. 102 Redwork Santas. I changed the red thread colour to DMC 815 as I much prefered it to the recommended DMC 3777, and it also a better match for the felt that I had. The green thread is as given and it's stitched on 32ct antique white Jobelan fabric. I also included a chart and a handbag hanger which I forgot to take a photo of.

I took part in the HoE Christmas ornament exchange last year and this is the lovely ornament that Caroline sent me. It's from the Gift of Stitching magazine, stitched on 32ct Belfast linen with DMC threads.

My partner for the same exchange was Jayne. I stitched the Prairie Schooler design from last years Gift of Stitching ornament issue. I used 32ct Summer Khaki Belfast linen and the recommended DMC threads. It's shown here on the silver star and green felt that I used for the backing.

Lastly, this is the lovely Prairie Schooler ornament that I received from Elisabeth in the YLPS exchange round 4. (I'm sorry but I don't have a link to Elisabeth's blog.)

I really didn't do much stitching over the Christmas and New Year period, but I'm now busy with stitching my piece for the HoE's Stitch Red for Your Heart exchange. Last week I did make a small new start on LHN's Lavender Hill which I received from my friend Clare for Christmas. As yet I haven't taken a photo of it, I'll post that next time.

For now, I'd like to wish you all a belated Happy New Year, and I hope that 2010 brings you all that you wish for.

Many thanks for visiting my blog and for all the lovely comments that you leave.

Nicola
