Finishing, Stitching, and Baking

The week before last was my Gourmet Garden week, and I finished it on the Thursday. I've now got a frame to put it in once it's washed and pressed. It's stitched on 36ct cream Edinburgh linen using the recommended DMC threads. (All photos can be clicked for a better view.)

Taking the place of Gourmet Garden is Heritage Crafts Tulip Fields. I started this some years ago and have decided that it's high time I got on with it. I only stitched on it for a couple of hours but, as you can see from the right hand photo I did make some progress on it. I'm stitching this on 27ct antique white Linda.

Last week I moved onto another WIP  that had not been worked on for a while, LHN's Acorn Hill. I very nearly finished it but ran out of a thread which I have just ordered today. Hopefully, that will arrive  tomorrow so I should be able to finish it this week before moving on to another UFO.

Last week this sweet little stocking arrived from Sally. She sent it to me as a thank you for a chart that I had sent her last year. It's BBD's Sweetheart Sampler Stocking stitched on 30ct linen with Carries Creations Banana Split thread. Sally backed the stocking with some lovely Autumn fabric.

Finally here's the baking that I did last Sunday afternoon. I made a dozen of these cup cakes, however, two were already eaten by the time I took the photo and the plate would only hold eight. I do need to practise my piping a bit more as it's something I've not done for years. I didn't colour the icing as my food colourings were so out of date, I really must get some new ones.

Many thanks for visiting my blog and for all the lovely comments that you leave, they are very much appreciated.

Nicola

Well done on tackling what are gorgeous UFO's. Enjoy the HD too. Lovely gift from Sally. :0) Those cakes look tasty... shame I can't eat anything like that anymore or I'd be offering to come round & help you finish them up. LOL ;0)
