Back to Blogging

Blogging has taken a bit of a back seat over Christmas, so I thought I'd start the New Year off with an update.

Back at the end of October I finished Just Nan's Amethyst Snowflake, a Christmas present for our very good friends, Colette and Richard. Here it is as it came off the hoop.
And here it is framed.

It was my birthday on 17th Dec. and Colette designed and stitched me this needleroll. I was thrilled that she named the design "Nicola" after me.

Progress on the Tea Room has been somewhat slow over Christmas, but I did manage to do a bit of stitching on it, and even stitched from 2006 into 2007 last night! Here's where I left it just after midnight.
We had a quiet time over Christmas, just the three of us, Paul, my son, having come home on the Friday before. I had some lovely presents, a book, a CD, two lots of perfume, Molton Brown shower gel, a lovely vase from Colette and Richard, some candles and the JCS 10th anniversary Christmas Ornament Collection. This should have been for my birthday but did not arrive in time so Keith had to swap it with a jumper that had been intended for Christmas. It was the only stash I got as I didn't ask for any other stash. To be honest I have far more than I'm going to get through in my life time, but this book will come in very handy as I'm taking part in the Christmas Ornamnet SAL starting at the end of the month. Paul surprised us with some very unusual presents, he gave me an ice block and Keith an ice scraper. I was really bemused by this, thinking that he had really flipped! However, when we had opened all the other presents he told us that he had booked tickets for the 1st April to go and see "Dancing on Ice" at the N.E.C. in Birmingham. It was a most unexpected present and we are all looking forward to it very much.

I am now starting to think about my goals for 2007, there won't be as many as some of you have. You've done an amazing amount of stitching in one year and I just can't hope to match it, being a very slow stitcher. I'm really looking forward to starting the ornament SAL, which is a great idea and hopefully I'll have quite a few by next Christmas. I'm also looking forward to continuing to read all your blogs and hopefully make some new stitching friends.

Your Just Nan piece came out great and so did the needleroll you received. The tea room project looks close to a finish too. Congrats on all. CJ

Amethyst Snowflake is beautiful Nicola. I have this in my stash pile, I think I may need to get it kitted up after seeing yours done.

The tea shop is coming on well, looking forward to seeing that finished.
