More Floralie

I'm posting this update a few days later than I had intended to because I just couldn't put it down! I even stitched on it in the evenings a couple of times, something I don't normally do as I stitch a lot during the day so am quite tired by the evening and usually nod off. Click on the picture for a better view.

The chart stash wagon challenge is going well. When I want something new to do I just go "shopping" in my huge chart stash, like this morning when I dug out a chart from my Repertoire des Frises book. I'm using one of the threads that I, or rather Keith, bought on Saturday as a treat, DMC 111. I just want something small to do this week as a change from Floralie, which is on a large hoop that makes my hand ache. At least, hopefully, you'll get something new to look at when it's finished.

The weather here has improved slightly. We've had a mixture of sun and showers over the weekend and areas that were flooded are starting to dry out. On Tuesday the River Sow, which flows through Stafford, burst it's banks and parts of the town, including Sainsbury's car park and Victoria park, were under water. It took Keith a while to get out of Stafford, on his way home from the station, as the town became grid locked with traffic trying to find alternative dry routes home. I did hear this morning that this weather is set to continue for a while, I do hope that's proved to be wrong!

Thanks for all your comments on my cards, I shall have some more to show you later in the week.

Oh, Floralie is gorgeous! I love the colours you've chosen for it and it's growing amazingly fast too.

Why don't you buy yourself a stitching stand? I have a floor stand and one of those that you slide between your leg and the sofa/chair. I don't use the floor stand much now though with Riley being up and about. It's too flimsy and would topple easy if he got hold of it, but I wouldn't be without it. I can't stitch for more than a few minutes holding a hoop anymore. I find the ones that you can rest your work on rather than have to clamp in the best because you can just pick it up and turn it over to do the back rather than having to unclamp it or turn the frame.

You've been lucky with your weather. We've had torrential rain all weekend! It's been awful.

Good grief, this comment is turning into an essay!

Floralie is stunning Nicola. It's been raining on and off all weekend here in the East Midlands and i did here on the news we have 1 road flooded under a railway bridge, so i expect the rush hour this morning was a nightmare.

Nice to see you making such swift progress on Floralie, I too think the colours you have chosen are wonderful, it must be such a treat to stitch. The weather here is pretty awful, however as I type I can spy a small patch of blue sky, however out of the kitchen window I spy MORE rain clouds!

Floralie is amazing! I can't believe the depth you get from just two DMC colors.

I'm also from the Stitching Bloggers list, so mainly just popped in to say hi! I love the "stitch from your stash" challenge.... I should try that!
