Garden Pleasures and a Sweet Fob

I have a couple of things to show you today. First of all is my completed Garden Pleasures. I started this back in May intending to stitch on it whilst on holiday, but didn't. I've been working on it on and off since then finally finishing it on Monday. I'm not sure though, that I like this linen very much, it's very stiff and although I'm used to working on 32ct the holes did seem rather small. Next time I plan to use it I think I'll wash it first to soften it up a bit.

Garden Pleasures by Little House Needleworks
32ct Lambswool Permin Linen
DMC, GAST, and Crescent Colour Threads as given

The second thing I'm showing you is the very lovely fob stitched for me by Cheryl. I was lucky enough to be drawn as one of Cheryl's winners in her Blogiversary draw. The design is taken from an LHN chart. Thank you so much Cheryl it's really sweet.

In exchange news, my needle roll for the HoE exchange is now finished and just needs packing up along with the extras that I'm sending and then it can go off to it's recipient. The Prairie Schooler exchange piece is complete too, and just needs finishing off, but I'm way ahead of the posting date with that. I have started off my personal exchange piece for Clare, which will be exchanged when we meet up again in The Dales while I'm on holiday there in October. The Fair and Square round 9 sign up has closed and I'll receive my partners details by the end of the week, but I'm going to start looking out some likely desings now. After all that is completed I'm going to cut down a bit on exchanges in order to concentrate a bit more on my own stitching. Yesterday I received some 36ct Edinburgh linen for my Derwentwater Yorkshire village. I bought it as a kit a few years ago and it came with 18ct Aida. I did make a small start on it but really do not enjoy working on this fabric any more. I've been promising myself the linen for it for ages, and now that I have it I can finally re-start it.

Thanks for reading my blog, and a special thank you to those of you who took the time to leave a comment.

I am looking forward to seeing your Yorkshire Village, I have the Warwickshire one on my wishlist, I think they are lovely pictures. Garden Pleasures looks good - well done on the finish.

Hi Nicola!
Garden Pleasures is beautiful! The color combinations are gorgeous!

I have used the 32ct Permin Lambswool before. It washes up very well and tightens up the holes, although it certainly looks fine to me the way it is now.

Hi Nicola, Garden Pleasures and the fob from Cheryl are both very lovely.

Would you be interested in swapping the chart for 'Summer Garden' by Country Cottage Needleworks? I see you are quite a LHN/CCN fan. Let me know if you are interested. :-)

I'm looking forward to seeing your Derwentwater Yorkshire Village, they do some lovely kits. I bought my Mum one years ago, I think it was called Poppy Lane. She's lost her stitching mojo big time though, so don't know if she'll ever start/finish it.
