Ducks on Lavender Hill?

No, the ducks come later. It's sheep that are safely grazing on LHN's Lavender Hill. I picked this up again last Tuesday after having finished my HoE exchange, and continued to stitch like mad on it until I finished it on Friday.

LHN Lavender Hill

32ct Summer Khaki Belfast linen

DMC threads as given

Yesterday afternoon I made a small start on my next piece. In true Rolf Harris style - can you see what it is yet?

Now for the ducks in the title. On Saturday afternoon we went over to Fradley Junction, where the Coventry canal joins the Trent and Mersey canal, for tea and cake. We also took some left over bread with us to feed the ducks. They are normally in the water but this time most of them were up on the bank and those that weren't soon joined the others with the rattle of the bread bag. Mr. L. was soon surrounded by them all and the goose was even standing on his foot! They were taking bites out of the bread from his hand until it got down to about half a slice when one would run off with the rest of it closely followed by the other ducks trying to pinch it. It was quite hilarious to watch.

Many thanks for visiting my blog and for all the lovely comments that you leave.

Nicola

Hello Nicola,

Congratulations on your finish of Lavender Hill.

Your little trip sounds like it was a lot of fun. Especially the tea and cake part:) The pictures of Mr. L with the ducks are great.

I hope you have a good week.

I'm totally stumped on your new project. :D

Feeding the ducks is always good for a laugh - rather like watching young children at play.

Hope you don't leave us in suspense for too long!

Seeing the canal in the background of the pics makes me think of Coronation Street, when they go to the canals! ;) Fantastic finish!
