Where has the time gone?

Well, it has been a long time since my last post! It was summer then and now all of a sudden it's nearly Christmas. I have been stitching even if I haven't been blogging about it, so I now have several photos to share with you. First is the rabbit from Prairie Schoolers Fall Fields book. It's stitched on the usual 32ct antique white Jobelan with the given DMC threads.

Next is the Prairie Schooler ornament that I stitched for Julianne. It's from the Good Saint Nick book and again it's stitched on 32ct antique white Jobelan with DMC threads. This photo is courtesy of Julianne as I stupidly forgot to take one myself before sending it to her.

I also stitched a Christmas card for the two gentlemen that run our favourite tea shop in the Dales, and that are fast becoming friends. It's a Derwentwater design, and at times was quite a pain to stitch. The problem was stitching a half stitch with a pale colour using one strand of thread, and with strong sunlight behind it. I just had so much trouble seeing the stitches.

After that I thought it was time to stitch ourselves an ornament for Christmas. It's another one from P.S.'s Good Saint Nick book, fabric and threads as before. I'm not sure if it will be made up into an ornament for this Christmas though.

You may remember that I was stitching Blackbird Designs "When This You See". I've only stitched a wee bit on it since my last post and this is where it's up to now.

Finally this is how Mr. L. and I spent our time last Sunday - making dried apricot jam, and piccalilli.

I'm glad to say that most of our snow has now gone and it has warmed up a touch. I hope it stays that way too as next Friday is my birthday and my son, Paul, and his partner will be driving up from London that day for the weekend. It's been a while since we've seen them and I'm really looking to their visit.

Thank you to all of you who left a comment on my last post about rotations. I've decided that they really don't work for me and I've reverted to what Anne calls the screaming rotation, that is I'll work on whatever I find shouting the loudest at me.

Well there you are, that's what I've been up stitching-wise since I was last here. I'm going to make a big effort not to leave it so long again between posts.

Nicola

Oh Nicola, that's a good question. I always have the feeling that the time between the summer and Christmas rushes a lot more than the first half of the year.
Your PS stitching is wonderful as always. And there's some nice progress on your BBD piece.
