Ooooooops.....

I forgot to post my latest Chocolate Shoppe SAL WIP from last Wednesday. Stitching on it went a lot better and as you can see it's coming on well. I'm really enjoying stitching this design, it's nice to work on something that doesn't require too much concentration sometimes.

I've also slipped off the wagon! For a long while now I've been itching to stitch a Chatelaine design, and yesterday my first one arrived from Sew and So. I liked three, but could only buy one this month and chose The Magnolias, the others being Winter's Eve and Mini Mandalas II, those I will buy at a later date. I have just one problem with it though and that is whether to use the Needlepoint Silks or DMC. I shall be using the Gloriana silks as called for, although I'm going to substitute the petite princess perle for the same shade in the stranded silk as I'm really not sure where I can buy it here, but I'm not sure whether they will blend ok with DMC stranded cotton. I'm also going to use the Mill Hill beads as these are easier to obtain in the UK than the Delica beads. Any comments on silks versus stranded cotton would be much appreciated.

Naughty, naughty Nicola!! LOL! I wouldn't worry about the wagon. I'm on it but I won't be much longer if I'm honest. I really wanted to go until 1st April but after hearing of a 42 year old man dropping down dead in our local Co-op it's made me think. Life is too short and we should enjoy the things we love ( in moderation of course!! LOL!).

You will love stitching Chatelaines. I love them. I think your silks will be fine with DMC. I'm stitching Summer Afternoon at the moment and it's silks and DMC and they looks just fine. Looking forward to seeing your progress. Oh and I've done Winter's Eve and it's gorgeous!

Love your progres :)

DMC is fine instead of NPI (and much cheaper!) I love stitching with NPI threads but they don't look that different to DMC really. I've done/am doing all my Chatelaines so far with DMC except Mystery VIII - and I bought an unwanted kit off someone for a wonderful price for that one :)

Your chocolate shoppe looks yummy. I agree with Sally life is to short to wheel around on wagons. Go for the NPI silks you will so enjoy working with them and the final product will be lovely.

I'm using DMC in place of the NPI for Alpine Seasons and I think it's stitching up okay.

Great progress.
I use NPI Silks for my DT pieces. I love working with the silks, but it can work out expensive, DMC will look just fine if you want to use those.
Take care.
